Backpacking.Excursion
Spring of 2001 I took a small trip from Nashville, TN to Hendersonville, TN. I felt the need to get away from life as I knew it for a few days. So I packed my backpack and followed the railroad tracks north. I was able to see Nashville in a way that I had never seen this city before. Near the end of my 19 mile trip I found a small metallic stone near the river. Later I would find out it was silicon, the 14th element on the periodic table of the elements. And this is how I came up with the name for my company.
